All the way down the slope!

::: It's a very heavy star. It can pull you down all the way to oblivion! According to news-reports there are only three countries supporting Israel's war against Lebanon: United States of America, England and Canada. Our newly elected Conservative Prime minister, Mr. Stephen Harper in Ottawa stands beside G. W. Bush in all his war efforts against the so-called "terrorism" -- in the Middle-East as well as Afghanistan. While coffins arrive weekly now with the bodies of Canadian soldiers who died in Afghanistan, from day one, Harper called the Israeli attacks on Lebanon a "measured reponse."

We wonder, is he out of step with reality? Does he know what is really going on in the world? Or is he acting this way to deliberately serve alien interests? The Toronto Star just last week in a caricature /above/expressed the state of his popularity in the polls: "unless he changes his tone regarding the war against Lebanon, he will be sliding all the way down." -- He wouldn't want that now, would he?

But after several world wide mass demonstrations, the Toronto Globe and Mail reports, that Mr. Harper now "adopts softer tone on Mideast conflict."
"(..)Now we have a completley different situation from 3 weeks ago... we have a full blown conflict, almost a war. And it's hard to say whether a reponse is proportional to another. It's a war.(..)"

Pray tell, why is the situation different from 3 weeks ago, or since last year -- or for that matter since 1948?
What changed his tune? Did he look at the hundreds of bloody pictures on the Internet? Did he open some history books? He says he is a father and understands the death of children and families. Perhaps the Prime Minister should not rely so much on the behind-the-scene-advisors! /Hazánkért/
