About discipline... of a child or a nation

Did you ever watch a parent discipline a screaming small child who throws temper tantrums in a public place?
- If you don't behave at once, watch the bad old bogeyman, he is coming for you right there now, he will take you and bite you! so shut up, and be quiet. Or else.---

So Johnny, -- who might be hungry or tired -- gets scared for a while, shuts up and thinks about getting that promised bite from the alien. This bogeyman-trick might work a few times. But dear Mom, this overused record has to be disposed of, because your imaginary scarecrow never comes. Johnny finally realizes that this is all a fantasy, an awful lie to scare the hell out of him. -- What's a mother to do? Invent bigger lies? A darker bogeyman? Use corporal punishment? Or really look into the bottom of the problem?

Sorry my friends, but the bigger version of this little metaphor is happening right now in the United States of America, England and Canada today. To pacify the citizens, the lying politicians in power are scaring the hell out of everyone, with "weopons of mass destruction, possible nuclear wars, and terrorism, red alerts, yellow alerts... and so on." -- So, do you think Johnny's Mother is losing a little bit of her authority and credibility? Of course she does! Is Johnny losing his faith and trust in her Mother? Of course he does! How long can this go on?

My Friends! You do not have to agree with me, just keep your eyes and ears open. Do not let liars feed you poisonous mushrooms over and over again! THINK! Don't put your head in the sand. And don't tell me that you are careless about the world around you, or you "don't want to hear or see anything ugly going in, just want to be happy"... or ...
