In the Fall of 1956 Hungary did not have the right to "self-protect". In fact D. Eisenhower President of the free and democratic United States has sent a secret telegram to Belgrade to kommunist Josif Broz
Tito President of Yugoslavia stating: "the United States would consider unacceptable the victory of an anti-Soviet uprising in the neighbourhood of the Soviet Union." -- And his wish became reality: the Hungarian Uprising was defeated in a bloody battle against Soviet tanks, on November 4th, 1956. The Hungarian people DID NOT have the right to self-defense!
