"Just watch your step Canada, you could be next!"
Letter from a Canadian Reader
Well, since this spring we have a new Prime Minister, Stephen Harper! However, it is becoming clear each day that he is totally "in bed" with war criminal G. W. Bush! We wonder: is he acting in the economic interest of our country or just follows his newly found weird ideology?
According to estimates, there are about 40,000 Canadians in Lebanon. Many lack access to information, cannot register with the Canadian embassy and are stuck in the south or other regions since they cannot escape for fear of the roads being bombed. Are we willing to let them become collateral damage for Israel's war?
Since we have amassed political credibility with Israel, Harper's good offices should request that Israel allow for the creation of a humanitarian corridor which would allow Canadians and Lebanese civilians wishing to flee the south to leave, under the protection of the United Nations or Canada. Did he do this? NO!
Before Harper, being Canadian was a virtual guarantee against assassination. Now it is a virtual invitation since Bush is the most hated individual in the world (with good reason) and Israel is certainly the most hated country of all time. It is bizarre that we made war on Germany for trying to right the wrongs of WW1 and create an anti-communist/anti-Zionist alliance, which would have brought major benefits to all mankind, whereas we now condone Israel's brutal Supremacism in the Middle East and subversion of the political process in North America that can lead only to suffering and disaster.
Did you know that every American taxpayer is culpable for the violence in Gaza and Lebanon? So, -- thanks to Stephen Harper -- taxpayer Canadians lining up behind the Bush-war for Israel, are also culpable for the violence in the Middle East!
Since 1948, at least over 100 billion USA tax dollars have gone to support the Israeli government! So, if you are American, you are culpable for the violence in the Middle East. Made in USA weapons were used to target Palestinian & Lebanese civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon in violation of the US Arms Export Control Act and the Geneva Conventions. /Photo: Harper and Bush/
International Law states that occupation is to be temporary and those living under military occupation: the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip are "protected persons" under the terms of the Geneva Conventions. Israel's targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and constitutes war crimes. Israel violated at least 68 times the UN Resolutions!
